Photochemical etching (PCE), also known as photochemical machining (PCM) or simply metal etching, is a non-traditional, subtractive machining process that uses photographic and chemical techniques to fabricate precision metal parts.
This is done using corrosive chemical to dissolve unwanted material away on photo resist coated metal to achieve the final design.
Photochemical etching (PCE) process is able to generates complex parts with tight tolerances (as low as +/-0.01mm) that is generally unachievable with laser cutting, water-jet cutting, punching or stamping process.
Metal parts produced by PCE’s process are stress-free with no burrs or rough edges and will not alchemize the original material properties
